The Moto3 Honda Team Asia successfully completed the fifteenth round of the season at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain.
This was one of the most special Grand Prix for the riders who are based in Barcelona during the year and where they do most of their training.

The first approach with the track was cautious for both riders who finished the FP1 outside the top 20.
In the afternoon, after set-up changes, the situation improved: Taiyo Furusato secured direct passage to Q2 by ending the day 13th.
His teammate Arbi Aditama crashed late in the session preventing a final time-attack.

The second day both riders gave their best to get a good position on the grid.
Taiyo Furusato got the fourth row by ending Q2 12th while Arbi Aditama’s performance was limited by the effects of the FP crash and he finished 25th.

The race was exciting from the beginning to the end, with a very big leading group of riders. Furusato, who finally started from 11th position on the grid – due to other riders’ penalties- showed a strong pace and progressively moved closer to the front group. In the second half of the race, the Japanese rider was fully involved in the fight for the podium. After several intense overtakes in the final laps, Taiyo crossed the line in a brilliant 3rd position. This podium is a well deserved result and represents a breath of fresh air for the team and for Taiyo who ultimately collected the results of their hard work.
Arbi Aditama’s race was challenging. On the opening lap, he was hit by another rider and suffered an ankle injury. Despite the pain, the Indonesian rider showed great determination and finished the race, gathering valuable data for the team ahead of the next round.

Next weekend the MotoGP circus will be in Misano for the San Marino GP!

Finally back on the podium – this was what I was missing for many races. I’ve had the speed in the last rounds, but I couldn’t convert it into results. I realized it was more about the mental side than the bike, and today I was able to stay calm, avoid mistakes in the final laps, and that was the key.
The race was aggressive, as always in Moto3, but cleaner compared to other weekends. That helped me manage better. Normally I get too hot-headed and can make mistakes, but today I controlled myself and it made the difference.
In the last corner, I tried to prepare a good exit to fight for the win. Suddenly, another rider came inside and I had to avoid contact, so I focused on saving P3. Without that, maybe I could have even won, but in any case it was a really nice race. I managed the tyres well, I’m very happy with this podium, and I’m really thankful to the team.

It was a tough race here in Barcelona. The whole weekend I was already struggling with pain in my hand, but I knew it was important not to abandon. Unfortunately, on the first lap today another rider touched my foot and hurt me badly, and then I also received a long-lap penalty from the incident. It was very painful and difficult to manage, but I told myself I needed to finish the race, even through the pain, because it’s important for the team to have data on the tyres. I pushed until the end, and even though the result was not what I wanted, I’m proud I finished.

It was an exciting 18-lap race in tricky conditions. The track was not easy, and with such a similar pace among the riders, the leading group was very big – at some moments nearly 20 riders together. Taiyo Furusato was always in the front group, consistently inside the top five. In the last laps, when slightly, the pace increased, and he even set the fastest lap of the race while fighting for the victory. Finally, he finished third, which is a brilliant result.
As for Arbi, he finished the race but unfortunately had an incident with another rider and suffered an ankle injury. He couldn’t walk properly afterwards, so we will need to check his condition before Misano. Overall, we are very happy with Taiyo’s podium and will try to carry this momentum into the upcoming races.
