The Moto3 Honda Team Asia faced the first of three consecutive Grand Prix events and it did in Misano for the second time in a row this year for the EmiliaRomagna GP, 14th round of the season.
Being back on the same track of the last race could have been a benefit as the team was aware of the aspects to strengthen and knew exactly how to improve the performance.

Despite expectations, both riders, Taiyo Furusato and Tatchakorn Buasri, encountered a difficult weekend start, struggling with the lack of traction and concluding the first day respectively in 18th and 25th position.

On the qualifying day the Japanese Furusato delivered an outstanding performance, securing his first pole position in career in the Moto3 class, after passing from Q1. His teammate, the Thai Buasri faced challenges in Q1 and started from 26th position.

The race was full of expectations for Taiyo Furusato, who was battling for the victory in the early laps. Unfortunately a mistake cost him several positions and a subsequent long-lap penalty ended his podium chances. He finished 13th.
Meanwhile, Tatchakorn Buasri, after a good start, was involved in a collision with another rider, resulting in a crash. Fortunately, Buasri was not injured, and both riders are ready to give their best in 7 days in Mandalika.

MOTO3: TAIYO FURUSATO #72
Grid 1-Race 13

I’m really disappointed with the race. We expected a much better result. I thought I’d be able to stay with the leading group, but from the start, I didn’t have a good feeling with the bike. This made it hard for me to perform at my best.
It’s frustrating to end the weekend this way, especially after such a positive start from the first day. I can’t be happy with the result, but we need to stay positive and keep working. I’ll speak with my team to analyze the mistakes so we can avoid repeating them in the next races. Hopefully, we’ll improve at the Indonesian GP.

MOTO3: TATCHAKORN BUASRI #5
Grid 26- Race DNF

Today was not a good day, to be honest. It started well; we made some adjustments to the bike, and during the warm-up, I felt confident. I managed to overtake some riders at the start of the race.
However, around Turn 10, I saw a group of riders battling, and as I tried to overtake from the outside, another rider collided with me, hitting my elbow and causing me to crash. The positive takeaway is that we’ve found a good setup for the bike. Hopefully, we can find our pace from day one at Mandalika and have a better result next week.

HIROSHI AOYAMA – Team Manager

We’ve just concluded the Moto3 race. Saturday was a fantastic day, but Sunday was quite the opposite as things didn’t go as planned. Taiyo Furusato was fighting for a podium spot until midway through the race, but after a mistake, he lost contact with the lead group. A long-lap penalty further dropped him to 13th place. This result was far from what we anticipated, especially after starting from pole position.
As for Tatchakorn Buasri, his race was short after a crash in the first lap. Thankfully, he’s ok, not injured. It wasn’t the outcome we were hoping for, and leaving Misano like this is tough. However, we must focus on improving for next week’s race in Mandalika.
