After the GermanGP at Sachsenring (only one week ago), the Moto3 Honda Team Asia faced, this weekend, the 12th round of the season at the Automotodrom Brno in the Czech Republic, a legendary track making its return to the MotoGP calendar after five years of absence.
Taiyo Furusato was the only representative at Brno. His teammate, Tatchakorn Buasri, suffered a shoulder injury during the German GP and, after further assessment, he was declared unfit.

The first day at Brno was marked by unpredictable weather conditions that complicated the learning of the layout for most of the riders (including Furusato) approaching this circuit for the very first time.
After a difficult morning session under wet conditions, in the afternoon the track was dry but dusty and slippery.
Furusato had difficulties in finding a consistent pace and ended the day in P22.

The second day was better: Taiyo Furusato and the team worked closely on the bike’s setup, the feeling improved and the pace was stronger.
This was not enough to reach Q2, missed by just a few tenths. Furusato concluded Q1 in 6th place but gained two positions after other riders’ penalties which meant 18th on the grid.

In the race, after the start, Taiyo positioned himself in the second group of riders fighting for the point zone.
Lap after lap, the Japanese rider showed excellent pace, tire management, and determination and reached the group battling for eighth. In the final lap, he joined the fight and crossed the finish line 11th.
However, during that last-lap battle, Furusato had contact with another rider who crashed and the Race Direction imposed a six-second penalty post-race which dropped Taiyo from 11th to 16th in the final classification.

The CzechGP marked the final round before a three-week summer break.
The World Championship will come back in mid-August in Austria!

MOTO3: TAIYO FURUSATO #72
Grid P18 –  Race 16 (after penalty)

It’s been a really disappointing ending to the CzechGP. I gave everything I had during the race. My feeling with the bike improved, and I managed my tires well to push harder in the second half. I was catching the riders ahead and joined the battle for the top 10.
Sadly, in the final lap, I overtook a rider but made contact and he crashed. It’s a shame that in situations like this, the penalty is always so harsh. I accept the mistake and, most importantly, I’m relieved the other rider is okay.
I apologise to the team for the outcome — they worked incredibly hard all weekend to give me the best possible bike. I just want to say thank you and promise I’ll give my all during the summer break and testing to come back stronger for the rest of the season.

MOTO3: TATCHAKORN BUASRI #5
UNFIT

I’m really sad to have missed this CzechGP. Brno is a new track for almost everyone on the grid, so it would have been a great opportunity to start on equal terms and try to achieve a strong result. I had been looking forward to this race so much — it’s a big loss for me.
The pain in my shoulder is still quite strong, and I know I wouldn’t be able to ride safely or at my best. That’s why we made the decision to step back and recover properly. I really hope to solve this situation soon, get the right treatment, and come back on track as soon as possible. Thank you to my team and supporters for the trust and support during this tough moment.

HIROSHI AOYAMA – Team Manager

We just completed the 12th race of the 2025 Moto3 World Championship here in Brno. It was quite a thrilling race. Taiyo Furusato gave his all throughout the 16 laps to recover positions — he started 18th and finished 11th across the line. Unfortunately, during the final-lap battle, he touched another rider who crashed, and Race Direction decided to give him a time penalty, which made him finish 16th in the official results.
It’s been a tough weekend for him, but I clearly saw he gave 100% in every session. Even though today’s final position wasn’t what we expected, his attitude as a rider was exactly what we want to see. We now look ahead to the test tomorrow to prepare for the second half of the season. Many thanks to all our sponsors, supporters, and staff for their constant dedication and effort..
