The Moto3 Honda Team Asia faced one of the most important weekends of the season: the seventeenth round of the 2025 World Championship at the Mobility Resort Motegi, home of the Motul Grand Prix of Japan.
For Taiyo Furusato, the event marked his home race and the Japanese rider arrived with strong motivation while the Indonesian talent Arbi Aditama was eager to get back on track after a frustrating retirement in Misano.

The beginning of the weekend was positive: on the first day Furusato showed good pace and speed and he earned direct access to Q2 securing the 9th place in the afternoon session.
On the other side of the garage, Arbi Aditama worked consistently throughout the day, ending both sessions in 26th position.

The qualifying day was good for both riders: Taiyo Furusato, thanks to the strong work done on the first day, could focus on race pace during the morning session and delivered an excellent performance in Q2 by getting the 5th position on the grid.
His teammate Arbi Aditama made a very important step forward and achieved his best grid position in Moto3: P20 that became P18 after penalties of other riders.

The race day instead was very difficult for the team and it ended in the worst way for both riders.
Arbi Aditama crashed at Turn 3 on the opening lap while attempting an overtake. It was a big shame considering good progress showed over the weekend.
Taiyo Furusato had a great start from the second row and gained two positions at the first corner. By the end of the opening lap, he was seventh and started to move up reaching the second position after some spectacular overtakes.
Unfortunately, weather conditions were unstable with light rain falling from the start.
On lap nine Tayo suffered a crash. He rejoined briefly but crashed again a minute later, ending his chances.

Let’s take the positive side: both riders are physically okay and the next weekend they will have a new opportunity to redeem themselves at Mandalika.

MOTO3: TAIYO FURUSATO #72
Grid P5  Race DNF

furusato 2024

Today is very difficult to accept. I made a good start, overtook some riders, and felt confident in the first laps. By lap three I was already fighting in the top five, and soon after I moved up to second place. The bike was working well, and I believed I had the pace to fight for a podium in front of my home fans. Unfortunately, the conditions were unstable with light rain, but I chose to push and try to close the gap to the leader. That’s when I made a mistake and crashed. I rejoined, but then I crashed again, and my race was finished.
I feel very disappointed, especially because I wanted to give something special to the Japanese fans who supported me all weekend. I need to take this as a lesson and learn from it, even if it’s painful right now. The important thing is that I am physically okay, and the team keeps believing in me. We have another chance very soon in Indonesia, and I will give everything to fight for a strong result and turn this frustration into something positive.

MOTO3: FADILLAH ARBI ADITAMA #93
Grid P18-  Race DNF

I am very sorry for how today ended. I wanted to make a strong race, and I tried to push immediately on the first lap to gain some positions. At Turn 3, I made a move to overtake another rider, but I lost control and had a high-side crash. My race was over before it even really started, and it is very frustrating. I had a good feeling with the bike and the team worked so hard, so it hurts to not bring a result.
Even if today was a very bad day, I need to keep my head up and look forward. The most important thing is that I am okay physically, and I will be ready for the next race in Indonesia. It’s only in one week, and it will be the perfect opportunity to put this disappointment behind us. I want to say thank you to the team for their constant support and to the fans for always believing in us. I promise to give my maximum in Mandalika, it’s my home race and I will give everything to achieve a result that we can all be proud of.

HIROSHI AOYAMA – Team Manager

Today was a very difficult race for us, and we leave Motegi with a huge disappointment as the expectations were high. Arbi had a crash on the very first lap at Turn 3, which was a big shame because he had shown good progress over the weekend. These things can happen in racing, but it hurts to see his race end so soon. For Taiyo, he had a great start and then showed incredible fighting spirit to move up to second place. Unfortunately, the conditions were tricky, and pushing to catch the leader resulted in a crash that ended his race as well.
It is hard to accept this outcome, especially here at our home Grand Prix where the motivation and expectations were very high. The positive is that both riders are physically okay, and we have another race immediately next weekend in Indonesia. We need to take the lessons from today, stay positive, and use the frustration as extra motivation. The season is still long, and we will fight to get the results we know are possible.
